New Life Sciences @ ECU

The Eastern Region Pharma Center (ERPC) facilitates workforce development in biomanufacturing in eastern North Carolina. East Carolina University (ECU) is the hub of the ERPC within the BioPharma Crescent connecting ECU, five community colleges, and several regional pharma companies. ERPC’s goals include:

• Increasing pharma awareness and workforce preparedness through our Pharma Pathways Program
• Increasing the opportunities, capabilities, and productivity of associate and bachelor’s degree graduates
• Increasing ECU’s readiness to re-skill, up-skill, and new-skill incumbent employees from local pharma manufacturers

ECU’s Life Sciences and Biotechnology building supplements ECU’s and the community colleges’ resources with the ERPC’s 4,500-square-foot biomanufacturing laboratory training facility, featuring labs for upstream and downstream biomanufacturing, lab cyberinfrastructure for virtual and distance training, Pharma 4.0 technologies, and cybersecurity training.
